Robbie Richter, the pitmaster of Fatty ‘Cue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, has left after a year on the job. He has not revealed his future plans.
A restaurant spokesman said that Mr. Richter’s last day was Wednesday. Fatty ‘Cue has not named a replacement but said that his team will continue to man the smokers.
Fatty ‘Cue opened in March 2010 as an Asian-meets-Southern barbecue outlet of Zakary Pelaccio’s Fatty franchise. It received one star from The Times’s Sam Sifton, who wrote that “the combination of American barbecue technique and South Asian flavors is brilliant and unsettling.”
Mr. Richter, a Queens-born pitmaster, helped start Hill Country in 2007.
